St. Paul's Legacy Foundation

St. Paul’s Legacy Foundation is an extension of St. Paul’s overall mission of knowing Jesus Christ more fully and serving others in His name.

Why was the Foundation created?

The Foundation was created in 2000 by the St. Paul’s Vestry in recognition that ministry needs cannot always be fulfilled through the church’s regular program of giving.

In response, St. Paul’s Foundation, with thoughtful and prayerful consideration for the future of St. Paul’s and the continuation of its ministry of service, provides a resource to ensure that the blessings we have received will be passed on to future generations.

What type of needs does it cover?
  • Enhancing St. Paul’s campus when major repairs or improvements are required.

  • Increasing support for local or international mission projects requiring special assistance.

  • Expanding or creating special Christian education or worship opportunities for our children and families.

  • Responding to special congregational or community needs as determined by the Vestry.

Why is the Foundation so vital?

As a congregation, we need to be prepared for responsible maintenance, for emergencies and for expanding educational and worship resources. Such needs can be addressed by a well-funded foundation that creates both stability and new possibilities for the St. Paul’s community.

Why can't the annual budget cover these needs?

Our annual budget, through pledges and regular donations, covers the only the ongoing operational needs of the St. Paul’s congregation. We have been fortunate, particularly during the Covid pandemic, to have received the generous financial support required to continue our ministry uninterrupted. However, the annual budget does not prepare us for responding to our historic campus that requires constant upkeep, or for addressing emergency needs that might be incurred by any of our outreach ministries, or for our ability to support special educational and camping opportunities that benefit our children and youth.

So how does it fit in with the annual budget?

The St. Paul’s Legacy Foundation does not seek to replace the importance of our regular giving or to fund traditional budget items like salaries or other operating expenses. It is an opportunity for receiving gifts specifically dedicated to endowing our shared ministry for generations to come.
Simply put, life is a gift that invites each of us to find a way to say, “Thank You.” The creation of the St. Paul’s Foundation, in its desire to grow and support the ministry of Jesus Christ both today and tomorrow, provides such an opportunity.

It is an opportunity that will invite future generations of worshippers to look back and say, “See what they did for us.”

Plan your legacy
